Mandatory entry fee · 2026 update

Bali Tourist Levy explained.

Since February 2024, every foreign visitor to Bali pays an IDR 150,000 (~USD 10) Tourist Levy. It funds cultural and environmental preservation, it's mandatory for every traveller including children, and it's a separate payment from your visa. Here's how it works in 2026.

How to pay

Five-minute process, online before you fly.

  1. 01

    Open lovebali.baliprov.go.id

The Love Bali portal is the only official channel. Other websites charging more for the same service are unofficial — they may charge a markup or, occasionally, fail to register the payment with Customs.

  2. 02

Enter passport details — for every traveller

Each person needs a separate entry: name, passport number, nationality, arrival date. Family groups can be registered in one session but each gets a unique QR code.

  3. 03

Pay IDR 150,000 per person by card

Visa, Mastercard and major international cards accepted. Currency conversion happens at your bank's rate. Some banks pre-block Indonesian transactions — check with yours, or let us bundle the levy with your visa application.

  4. 04

    Save the QR code

Screenshot it, save the email confirmation, or print a copy. Indonesian Customs at Ngurah Rai checks the QR code on arrival — without it, you'll be redirected to a manual counter.

Common confusion

Tourist Levy vs eVOA vs Declaration Form.

Three separate things, three separate payments / submissions. Most first-time travellers think they're one transaction — they're not.

FAQ

Tourist Levy questions.

  • What is the Bali Tourist Levy?

A IDR 150,000 (~USD 10) per-person fee, mandatory for every foreign visitor entering Bali. Introduced in February 2024, it funds cultural and environmental preservation across the island. It applies to every traveller — adults, children and infants.

  • How much is the Bali Tourist Levy in 2026?

IDR 150,000 per person — approximately USD 10, AUD 15, GBP 8 or EUR 9 depending on the exchange rate. Card processing fees may add 1–3% on top.

  • Where do I pay the Bali Tourist Levy?

On the official Love Bali portal at lovebali.baliprov.go.id. It can also be paid at the airport on arrival but with longer queues — paying online before flying is faster. The eVOA portal does NOT include the Tourist Levy; they're two separate payments.

  • When should I pay the Tourist Levy?

As soon as your flight is booked. The Levy QR code is valid for 1 year from issuance, so it doesn't matter if you pay weeks ahead. Indonesian Customs at Ngurah Rai checks for the QR receipt — without it you'll be redirected to a manual payment counter on arrival.

  • Is the Bali Tourist Levy the same as the eVOA?

No. The eVOA is the visa (IDR 500,000) issued by Indonesian Immigration. The Tourist Levy is a separate fee (IDR 150,000) collected by the provincial government of Bali. You need both. Most first-time travellers don't realise they're separate.

  • Do children and infants need to pay?

Yes. Every traveller, regardless of age, pays IDR 150,000 individually. Family group payments are processed as separate per-person QR codes through the same portal.

  • Can I pay the Tourist Levy with an Australian / UK / US card?

The Love Bali portal accepts Visa, Mastercard and major international cards in IDR with currency conversion at your bank's rate. Some banks block Indonesian transactions by default — check with your card issuer or use our agent service to bundle the levy payment with your visa.

  • What happens if I don't pay the Tourist Levy?

You'll be directed to a manual payment counter at Ngurah Rai before being allowed through Customs. Lines are typically 30–60 minutes during peak season. Paying online before flying is the recommended route.

  • Is the Tourist Levy refundable if I cancel my trip?

The Tourist Levy itself is non-refundable from the Indonesian provincial government. The QR code is valid for 1 year from issuance, so you can use it on a different trip within that window.
