Bali Visa for British citizens (2026).

British passport holders are one of Europe's largest source markets for Bali, with over 300,000 UK arrivals each year. The Indonesian eVOA process accepts standard British Citizen passports without any extra documentation, and most UK travellers route through Singapore, Doha or Dubai with no impact on the visa. This page covers exactly what UK passport holders need in 2026 — including the new Tourist Levy and Declaration Form most first-time visitors don't know about.

Question 01

Do British citizens need a visa for Bali?

Yes. UK passport holders need a visa for Bali in 2026 — there is no visa-free entry. Most British travellers use the eVOA for trips up to 30 days, extendable once.

British Citizen passports are eligible for the Indonesian eVOA, applied for online before flying. Other British nationality types (British National Overseas, British Subject, British Protected Person) sometimes need a different visa class — send us your passport's nationality field and we'll confirm before any payment is taken. The eVOA is the recommended route because it's pre-approved at the e-Gate and avoids the on-arrival queue at Ngurah Rai. UK travellers entering on a regular eVOA can stay 30 days, extend once for another 30 (60 days total), then must leave Indonesia or convert to the C1 Tourist Visa beforehand.

Visa options for UK passports

eVOA covers most British holiday-makers — 30 days extendable to 60, government fee IDR 500,000 (~£28). C1 Tourist Visa (formerly B211A) is the long-stay choice — 60 days on arrival, extendable twice to 180 days total, around £135 with our service fees. C2 Business Visa suits UK consultants, executives and remote workers attending meetings, conferences or training in Indonesia — same 60-day stay structure as the C1 but classified for business activities. KITAS for British citizens moving to Bali long-term: working KITAS (employer-sponsored), Investor KITAS (PT PMA shareholders), Retirement KITAS (60+) and family KITAS (married to an Indonesian or to an existing KITAS holder).

Bali visa cost in GBP (2026)

Standard eVOA government fee: IDR 500,000 (~£28). Tourist Levy: IDR 150,000 (~£8) paid separately through the Love Bali portal. With our agent fee, a complete UK eVOA application typically costs between £40 and £75 depending on processing speed. The C1 / B211A is around £135 all-in. Long-stay KITAS pricing varies by category — we send a fixed quote on WhatsApp before any payment is taken, in GBP, EUR or USD as you prefer. There are no hidden charges and government fees are itemised separately.

How to apply (4 steps from London, Manchester, Edinburgh or Birmingham)

1. Check your passport — at least 6 months' validity past planned exit, 2 blank pages, full British Citizen designation. 2. Lodge your eVOA — at molina.imigrasi.go.id directly, or through our agency. 3. Pay the Tourist Levy separately at lovebali.baliprov.go.id before flying. 4. Submit the All Indonesia Declaration Form within the 3 days before arrival at allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id. UK travellers usually fly via Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways or Emirates — the stopover doesn't affect the visa. The full checklist lands on your WhatsApp the moment you start an application with us.

Tourist Levy and Declaration Form for British travellers

The Bali Tourist Levy (IDR 150,000 ≈ £8 per person) launched in 2024 and is paid through the Love Bali portal — not the immigration eVOA portal. Indonesian Customs at Ngurah Rai will ask for your QR code receipt. The All Indonesia Declaration Form has been mandatory since September 2025 — submitted within 3 days before arrival, it combines the old Customs Declaration and SATUSEHAT Health Pass into one form. The form QR is checked at the e-Gate alongside your eVOA. Both apply per traveller including children and infants.

Long-stays for British nationals

British passport holders aged 60+ qualify for the Indonesia Retirement KITAS (formerly E33F) — 5-year permit, renewable, lodged from our Bali office. The Indonesia Second Home Visa offers a 5- or 10-year long-term residence option for any British national meeting the financial threshold. UK remote workers earning from non-Indonesian sources can use the new E33G Remote Worker Visa — valid 1 year, multi-entry, designed for digital nomads and consultants. We help British clients choose between these based on intended stay, income source and family structure.

Watch-outs

Common mistakes British citizens make.

  • Pitfall 01

    Wrong British nationality type

Standard British Citizen passports qualify for eVOA. British National (Overseas), British Subject and British Protected Person passports may need a different category — confirm with us before lodging.

  • Pitfall 02

    Forgetting the Tourist Levy

Separate from the eVOA. Pay at lovebali.baliprov.go.id immediately when you book flights — the QR receipt is checked at Customs, not at Immigration.

  • Pitfall 03

Declaration Form blocking your e-Gate scan

Submit at allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id within 3 days before arrival. Without the QR you'll be redirected to manual Customs which adds 30+ minutes.

  • Pitfall 04

    Trying to apply too early

The eVOA is valid for 90 days from issuance. Apply 1–4 weeks before your trip, not months ahead.

Ask on WhatsApp
  • Do British citizens need a visa for Bali in 2026?

Yes. UK passport holders need at least an eVOA, applied for online before flying. The 30-day visa-free entry available to some nationalities is not offered to UK passports.

  • Can British citizens use the eVOA?

Yes — full British Citizen passports qualify. Other British nationality types (BN(O), British Subject, British Protected Person) may need a different visa class. Send us your passport's nationality field and we'll confirm before any payment is taken.

  • How much is the Bali visa for UK citizens?

The eVOA government fee is IDR 500,000 (~£28). On top of that, the Bali Tourist Levy adds IDR 150,000 (~£8) per person. Our complete service for an eVOA application is typically £40–£75 depending on processing speed.

  • How long can British citizens stay in Bali?

30 days on the eVOA, extendable once for another 30 days for a total of 60 days. The C1 Tourist Visa (formerly B211A) covers stays up to 180 days with two extensions, no need to leave the country.

  • Can UK citizens work remotely from Bali?

Yes — for non-Indonesian employers and clients. The C1 Tourist Visa permits remote work for foreign companies. For paid local employment you need a Working KITAS, which we lodge as a separate service.

  • What is the official Indonesian visa website for UK applicants?

molina.imigrasi.go.id is the official portal. The Tourist Levy is paid at lovebali.baliprov.go.id and the Declaration Form is submitted at allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id. Three different government portals in total — we handle all three when you apply through us.

  • Do British minors need separate visas?

Yes. Every UK passport holder — adults, children and infants — needs their own eVOA, Tourist Levy receipt, and Declaration Form submission. We bundle family applications into one WhatsApp thread.

  • Can I retire in Bali on a UK passport?

Yes. British nationals aged 60+ qualify for the Indonesia Retirement KITAS — 5-year permit, renewable. Younger applicants can use the Indonesia Second Home Visa, valid 5 or 10 years, with a financial threshold but no minimum age.
