Processing time FAQ

Deadlines, holidays and rush jobs.

  • How long does a Bali visa take to process?

The eVOA takes 1–3 working days (same-day with urgent processing). The C1 Tourist Visa takes 5–7 working days, multi-entry business visas 10–14 working days, in-country extensions 7–10 working days after biometrics, and KITAS residence permits 3–6 weeks depending on the category.

  • Can I get a Bali visa the same day?

Yes, the eVOA with urgent processing is regularly issued the same working day or the next morning. It costs an extra USD 23 on top of the standard USD 40. Longer-stay visas (C1, C2, KITAS) cannot be compressed to same-day because they involve sponsor and immigration-office steps.

  • When should I apply for my Bali eVOA?

Apply at least one week before flying. The visa itself takes 1–3 working days, but the buffer covers document corrections, a blurry passport scan or photo issue adds a day. The eVOA can be used for entry within 90 days of issue, so applying early costs nothing.

  • What makes a visa application slower?

Three things cause most delays: document problems (blurry scans, short passport validity, name mismatches), Indonesian public holidays, especially Nyepi, Idul Fitri and the year-end period, when immigration offices close or run reduced hours, and incomplete sponsor paperwork on C-series visas. Clean documents remove the first cause entirely.

  • Do weekends and Indonesian holidays count?

No, all timelines are working days. Indonesian Immigration processes applications Monday to Friday, excluding national holidays. A 3-day eVOA lodged on a Friday before a long weekend arrives Tuesday or Wednesday. We flag upcoming holiday closures on WhatsApp when you apply.

  • How long does a Bali visa extension take?

Plan 7–10 working days from lodgement, including the biometrics appointment. Start at least 14 days before your current visa expires, overstay fines run IDR 1,000,000 per day. We lodge extensions on your behalf so you typically never visit the immigration office.

  • Are these times guaranteed?

No agency can guarantee government processing times, Indonesian Immigration controls the queue, and volumes spike around holidays. The timelines here reflect what we consistently see lodging applications daily from Bali. When a case looks unusual, we tell you before you pay, not after.
